Class Tips

Show up and be on time.

Use your planner/agenda book. Don't rely on your memory.  Write down your assignments, it will keep your organized and help you to plan ahead.

Take notes in class.  Anything your teacher writes on the board is important.  Write it down.

Ask Questions!  Remember, you may never know unless you ask.  Asking is a sign of confidence and curiosity.

SMILE!   Smiling is a great way to make yourself stand out while helping your body to function better. Smile to improve your health, your stress level, and your attractiveness.

Homework Time
Ready, Set, Go!

Stick to your routine.

Everyone needs a moment to relax after a hard days work.  Give yourself 30 minutes to have a snack, etc and then hit the books.

Create a study room in your house.  This will help you focus and get your homework done.  Remember, a study room should have everything that you need in one space (pencils, calculator, erasers, computer, etc.)

Use a homework timer and stick with it

Time management is the key when it comes to getting individual assignments done on time. Big problems and fatigue can occur when you take too much time on a certain assignment.  Work on an assignment for 45 minutes and then take a 5 minute break in between.  Remember to finish the work that is due tomorrow first, before doing other assignments.  Pace yourself. Stay focused. You can do it!

Know your "style!

Everyone learns differently . . . do you know how you learn?  For example:  Are you an auditory or visual learner?

If you need to memorize something, say it out loud, it helps you to memorize faster.

Keep it positive!

Don't let negative self talk rain on your parade.  Embrace your uniqueness.  You are amazing!  Know it!  Believe it!  Act like it. If you think negative, you will get negative.  Your goals are within reach!
